Camel Stories - Travel Tips

Travelling is one of the most incredible experiences you will ever have and is something I believe everyone should experience.

Not only does travelling broaden the mind but it also can introduce you to a whole new world you never knew existed. Travelling isn’t something that should be taken lightly and needs to be well thought out before heading into the world. There are a number of things you should consider before travelling and we’ve created a list of top travelling tips just for you.

Don’t be afraid

If you’re planning your first travelling trip then it can be easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of advice, checklists and destinations at your fingertips.
If you’re going it alone it can be doubly scary but I assure you that it will be the best thing you ever did. Make sure you do your research on the country, plan ahead and soak up every moment. You may be scared in the lead-up and on the plane but once you arrive you’ll just enjoy it.

Have a plan

Winging it can be great but every experienced traveller knows that having a rough plan of the route and time away is essential.

Not only will this help you to plan ahead but it also saves you the panic of not knowing where to go next. If you meet a great bunch of people and want to tag along to where they’re heading then fine, but make sure you’ve got a rough idea.

Don’t be a stranger

Keeping in touch with friends and family is really important.

Not only does it help with your safety, but it also puts their minds a rest. Send them an email every couple of days letting them know what you’re up to, keep them informed when you move to a different location, giving them the name of where you’re staying and the hotel/hostel.

Say yes, a lot

Travelling is all about new experiences so don’t hold back and say yes as much as you can.

Try new food, enjoy new experiences and make the most of every travelling moment. You’ll always remember the memories you make but you’ll quickly regret the no’s you made.

Pack light

Whether you’re going away for one month or one year, my advice is always to pack and then cut your luggage in half.

You’ll never need half of what you take with you so just pack the essentials and whatever you find you need, you can easily pick it up on your travels often for a fraction of the price.
